The Fujitec group has 10 production bases worldwide; two each in Japan and China, and one each in Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Indonesia and the U.S.A. Fujitec promotes the preservation of the global environment

ISO 14001 is gaining world attention as an international standard for environmental management systems. Fujitec Japan, Fujitec Singapore and Fujitec Korea received ISO 14001 certification for meeting Environmental Management System Standards. This shows that Fujitec closely considers the global environment in its business activities and products and is making an effort to preserve the world’s resources.

Fujitec will continue to promote its positive environmental preservation activities by further enriching its environmental management system.

Fujitec is at the forefront of developing new technology to reduce oil and noise pollution and energy wastage in operating lifts.

The Permanent Magnet (PM) Gearless Traction Machine

• A synchronous gearless drive system (a machine with a permanent magnet motor) that does not require a speed-reducing mechanism eliminates the use of lubricating oil in a conventional gear box.
• New technology has also reduced the weight and size of a traction machine because it doesn’t have mechanical parts for speed control.
• Serial communication between the control panel, hall-call buttons, floor indicators and hall lanterns enable data to be processed at 10 times the speed of a conventional system.
• The VVVF (Variable Voltage Variable Frequency) Door Operator uses the PM motor as the drive component to reduce energy usage

The results:



• 22% less electricity usage per month compared to a conventional motor.
• 33% reduction in energy consumption through Distributed Control System.
• 35% less energy for the door operating system compared to those with traditional asynchronous motor drive.
• 60% less area than conventional machine rooms.
• Machine room noise substantially reduced because no noise is generated when the motor is running at high speeds.

When applied to the workplace, Kaizen is a Japanese business philosophy with improvements in productivity seen as a gradual and methodical process involving everyone – managers and workers alike.

Fujitec is another Japanese company committed to a long-term partnership through investment in the UK. The company has had a growing presence in the UK since 1982 and is at the forefront of lift technology – environmentally and from a passenger safety perspective. To expand its business in the UK where the vertical transportation market is growing, in February 2020 Fujitec made a strategic move to enhance its operations base through the acquisition of Amalgamated Lifts. 

Since 1988, Amalgamated Lifts has delivered high-quality lift maintenance, repairs, modernisation and installation services across London and the South East.

The company currently maintains a portfolio of 2500+ lifts for clients within the Private, Public, Commercial, Residential, Housing and Facility Management sectors. Maintenance delivery is supported by a highly skilled engineering workforce and sustainable supply chain.

Fujitec and Amalgamated Lifts share a commitment to excellence and customer service. Fujitec is driven by Kaizen, the Japanese philosophy of continuous improvement, to continue making the elevator experience better for customers.

Engaging with families is how our mascot Tecky was born with over 900 Fujitec employees and their families working together to design the perfect Mascot to teach children in the ways to safely use Vertical Transportation.

Manufacturing Capability 

Fujitec has manufacturing facilities in Japan, India, Taiwan, Korea and America. Global production operations deliver a standardised/commodity-based level of products in accordance with the region’s individual code requirements and needs. All facilities work in close co-operation with our headquarters in Japan to ensure that technological efficiencies and production quality standards are achieved worldwide. The UK operation is supported by Head Office in Japan and any of the factories, depending on the product being designed and built – lifts, escalators and walkways/travelators.
